Unitek General Contracting LLC, a general contracting company based in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, is currently seeking a MEP Estimation Engineer to join its commercial and technical team.
This position is well-suited for mechanical, electrical, or plumbing engineering professionals with technical expertise in construction cost estimation, tender documentation, and quantity surveying within the regional market.

Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing quantity take-offs, preparing accurate financial proposals, and assessing tender requirements for mechanical, electrical, and plumbing scopes.
Core operational duties include:
- Quantity Surveying & BOQ Preparation: Performing precise quantity take-offs and generating detailed Bills of Quantities (BOQs) from design drawings, schematics, and project documentation.
- Cost Estimation: Formulating comprehensive direct and indirect cost estimates for materials, labor, equipment, and specialized subcontractors.
- Tender & Specification Review: Analyzing client tender documents, project specifications, contracts, and addenda to ensure compliance and identify commercial risks or value-engineering options.
- Vendor & Subcontractor Management: Soliciting, evaluating, and negotiating competitive quotations from suppliers and specialized subcontractors.
- Technical Analysis: Reviewing MEP layout drawings, single-line diagrams (SLDs), and technical data sheets to align estimations with project specifications.
Candidate Qualifications & Requirements
Applicants are expected to meet the following professional criteria:
- Industry Experience: A minimum of 2 years of professional experience in the construction sector, with a primary focus on MEP estimation.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in BOQ preparation, tender analysis, drawing interpretation, and cost management using industry-standard tools and Microsoft Excel.
- Licensing: Possession of a valid UAE Driving License is preferred.
- Notice Period: Preference will be given to candidates capable of joining immediately or upon short notice.
- Competencies: Strong numerical accuracy, analytical thinking, and clear written and verbal communication skills.
